The demand by some Umno branches that Najib Abdul Razak quit the president's post does not affect support at grassroots level.
Umno information chief Ahmad Maslan said a survey found that only 15 branches from the 21,000 branches nationwide are involved in making such a demand.
"This number represents a very small percentage.
“The 15 branches may be dissatisfied with other issues such as candidates not picked to contest in the last general election," he told reporters after attending a 'Program Membantu Rakyat (Membara) of the Tapah parliamentary constituency today.
Ahmad said the demand by the Umno branches was a challenge for the party, adding that no Umno division chief was against the party leadership.
At the function, he donated school bags and stationery to 650 poor students
comprising Malays, Chinese, Indians and Orang Asli. - Bernama
