PAS has instructed former vice-president Husam Musa not to issue any statements on the party's internal matter or the Kelantan state administration.
"We agreed that internal party matters and the state administration should be discussed through the party platform and through proper channels, instead of spreading it publicly," PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said.
"We agree that he must not issue any statements which could cause polemics," he told reporters at the PAS headquarters today.
This comes after Husam was called in to explain why he had issued statements accusing party president Abdul Hadi Awang of brokering a unity government with Umno, and his criticism against the PAS-led Kelantan government.
However, when met after the meeting with the PAS central committee, Husam said he had presented the committee with a "love note".
“I have presented them with a ‘love note’ that touches on how the administration of PAS in Kelantan can survive, on party matters and how unity among party members can be strengthened,” he told reporters outside the party headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
The Salor assemblyman, however, refused to comment further on what had transpired during the meeting which ended at about 3.30pm.
Husam arrived for the meeting at about 1.50pm, accompanied by more than 100 supporters who travelled from Kubang Kerian.
'Husam an upright man'
On Nov 19, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said the party central leaders called up Husam to explain allegations he made against Hadi and the PAS-led Kelantan state government.
Takiyuddin today said that all evidence submitted by Husam will be investigated and that a second meeting might be arranged to provide further explanations, if deemed necessary.
The initial date for the meeting was set on Nov 24, but Husam had previously said that he would only be attending the meeting upon returning from China.
It is learnt that Husam’s supporters had arrived in Kuala Lumpur from Kubang Kerian this morning and several of them, when met by Malaysiakini, expressed confidence in his innocence.
Shamsul Bahri Daud, 50, said that he fully supports Husam’s move to expose the “truth” in politics.
“I fully support Husam because he is upholding what is right in politics.
“We don't want PAS to be split because of the existence of ‘other elements’. I am confident Husam is right because he is also an upright man. I know him,” he said.
Husam also gets full backing from Mohd Rosli Ibrahim, 55, from Salor.
“We will follow him and that is our stand. We are 100 percent behind Husam,” he said.
Another supporter, Ahmad Mohammad, said that they will continue to support Husam even if he was expelled from the party.
A majority of them also said they will continue to back Husam even if the former Kubang Kerian MP chose to leave PAS and join his former colleagues in Parti Amanah Negara.
Husam had in the past declared that he would remain loyal to the Islamist party, despite internal calls for him to leave over his open criticisms of Hadi. -Mkini
