Roberto Guiati asked the model cum actress for her hand in marriage whilst on holiday in Phuket.
PETALING JAYA: A famous and much-loved face among Malaysians, Kavita Kaur Sidhu is set to get married in January next year after her Italian boyfriend proposed to her in July whilst on holiday in Phuket.
The beauty queen cum model and actress posted a picture of herself with Roberto Guiati on Instagram with the message “It’ll be a special Xmas this year. Blessed.”
According to a report by The Star Online, the two have been dating for four-and-a-half years after having met each other through friends eight years ago.
Guiati has worked in Malaysia for nine years and is presently in the sales sector in the oil and gas industry. He is a geologist by training and co-owns Zenzero Restaurant & Wine Bar here with Kavita and her brother.
In another Instagram post, Guiati is seen posing with a red and cream wedding costume with a message from Kavita saying: “Bollywood shopping! Rob as calm as ever..we don’t think he realizes what’s in store for him!! Poor guy.”
In speaking to The Star about her marriage proposal, Kavita said, “I know life is full of risks but I am cautious when it comes to marriage because you will be living with this person for the rest of your life.”
The couple will be holding their wedding ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Hotel on January 8 and Kavita, who is also a fashion designer, will be wearing a wedding dress she has designed herself.
Kavita won the Miss Charm International title in 1990 in Russia.
