More 'donation' used to fund BN campaign in GE13, Rafizi alleges

PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli today alleged that Barisan Nasional had benefited from RM2 million in tax payers money to fund its 13th general elections campaign.
Speaking during a press conference at PKR headquarters, Rafizi claimed that the Finance Ministry had in 2013 approved the amount as "donation grants" for a BN-friendly Indian-based association.
“Now we have evidence that part of BN’s campaign was funded by tax payers money.
“(This case) has a much larger legal repercussion because the RM2 million is public’s funds,” he claimed.
This, he added, was based on a letter from the Treasury Department dated April 23, 2013, to the president of the association.
Rafizi revealed the contents of the letter at the press conference, along with minutes of the association’s meeting dated May 11, 2013, where it was stated that the president had allegedly admitted to obtaining RM2.5 million donation for election purposes.
Asked on the RM500 million discrepancy, Rafizi said he can only infer that there were other source of funding for the association.
Malaysiakini is withholding the identity of the Indian-based association until we get their response.
