'Muhyiddin had ample reminders before he was suspended'

Muhyiddin Yassin had ample reminders before he was suspended from his Umno deputy president post, stressed party secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
Tengku Adnan was responding to Muhyiddin who had earlier claimed that he was sacked without following proper procedures.
“He (Muhyiddin) has been attending Umno supreme council meetings. He himself knows that we have told him not to do the things that he had done, like going for the ceramah at the Sultan Sulaiman Club.
“And even then, he went on to give ceramahs at other places. So I don't understand what procedure he is talking about,” Tengku Adnan told reporters in Kuala Lumpur today.
The Putrajaya MP was also asked to comment on Muhyiddin saying he was not given the chance to defend himself before he was suspended.
But Tengku Adnan pointed out how the party number two was only suspended from a position, which does not affect his Umno membership.
“Because his post is supposedly to assist the president but he didn't assist the president.
“We want to show that he has failed as a deputy president, so we suspended his post; we don't need him,” he said.
Meanwhile, Tengku Adnan was also asked to comment on why no action was taken against Umno president Najib Abdul Razak’s vocal critic Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
But he merely raised his hand when asked the question, signaling that he didn't want to answer it.
Muhyiddin was yesterday suspended from the post of Umno deputy president, which came into immediate effect.
The decision came as no surprise, however, as he has been increasingly vocal in his criticism of Najib after the latter sacked him as deputy prime minister last year.-Mkini
