Mukhriz absent from Regency Council meeting, says assemblyman

Twenty of the 21 Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen were present at the audience with the Kedah Regency Council at Wisma Darul Aman in Alor Star today.

According to one of the assemblymen, only Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir was absent at the meeting held at Block E of the building.

The meeting is believed to have been held following the political crisis involving Mukhriz’s position as menteri besar.

Journalists were not allowed to enter Wisma Darul Aman but allowed to wait outside the perimeter fence of the complex.

Earlier, the vehicle carrying Kedah Council of Regency Member Tunku Tan Sri Puteri Intan Safinaz Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah arrived at Wisma Darul Aman at 2.40pm

This was followed by another vehicle carrying another member of the council, Tan Sri Tunku Abdul Hamid Thani Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, at 2.55pm.

The chairman of the council, Tan Sri Tunku Sallehuddin Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, arrived at 3pm. – Bernama
