Nazri: Dr M’s just angry his son didn’t last a term

Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad is now stopping at nothing to oust Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak because he has been shamed by the fact that his son Mukhriz did not last a full term as Kedah Menteri Besar, Minister Nazri Abdul Aziz said.
The Umno supreme council member was commenting on Mahathir’s call on the rakyat to rise against the premier.
“So now Mahathir wants the people to unite because he is angry that his son was removed. He wants Najib out because his son was ousted. This is shameful for him because his son didn’t even last a term.
“And there has been no uprising after Mukhriz was ousted, so it shows the rakyat doesn’t care. So Mahathir is ashamed that his son didn’t perform,” he told Malaysiakini.
Mukhriz resigned this month, after a coup led by Kedah Umno deputy chief Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah, who was later sworn in as menteri besar.
Mukhriz’s position in Umno was tenuous even before the coup, given that his father was already on a mission to kick Najib out of office.
Mahathir made the call for an uprising against Najib after giving his statement to police over a recent blog posting against the administration.
Karma comes for Mahathir’
However, Nazri said it was waste of time to investigate the 90-year-old veteran politician.
He said Mahathir is facing karma for allegedly being part of an internal coup that toppled first premier Tunku Abdul Rahman.
“He’s old. No need to investigate him. Just let him be. Even a glass window won’t shatter if he threw a rock at it. So no need to investigate him.
“Old people will soon suffer from dementia. He once went against Tunku Abdul Rahman, and now that he is old, he is insulted by some quarters of society…just like what he did to Tunku. That is karma,” he said.
He also brushed off Mahathir’s decision to join the March 27 anti-Najib meeting to be hosted by former de facto law minister Zaid Ibrahim.
“He can go. He has a grudge against Najib so let him be. He’s old so he can’t do anything. He’s been trying to topple Najib for a year already,” he said. -Mkini
