Nazri: Shafie stupid to think I called Muhyiddin a dog

Umno supreme council member Nazri Aziz did not mince his words calling Umno vice-president Mohd Shafie Apdal 'stupid' for thinking that he described Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin as a dog.
Nazri was asked to comment on Shafie's remark which said he was disappointed with certain quarters who described people speaking up against party leaders as pesky dogs nipping at ankles.
“He (Shafie) should listen properly. He must be a stupid vice-president,” Nazri told reporters in Kuala Lumpur today.
Nazri explained that he had only meant that people could not move forward if a dog kept on biting.
“I didn't say he (Muhyiddin) is a dog. This Shafie must be a stupid person to think that I called another person a dog.
“I just gave an example of how difficult it is when you want to do some work (and) a dog keeps on biting. The first thing that came to my mind was a dog biting your leg,” he said.
Nazri added that it was of no wonder that Shafie was kicked out from the cabinet.
“He's so stupid to even think that I called Muhyiddin a dog. He's really stupid. He deserves to be out of the team, out of the cabinet.
“I think he's not clever. He's saying something which I didn't mean. So I take offence to what he said. He will have no future in Umno,” Nazri said.
Nazri, however, said he did not plan to move a motion against Shafie in the same way he planned to do for Muhyiddin at the Umno supreme council meeting tomorrow.
“No. Come on, we can criticise. I'm just commenting on what he said. It is his right to say anything. But to me, he's not clever,” said Nazri.
Nazri, last Tuesday, had likened Muhyiddin’s recent attacks against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to a ‘biting dog’ that made it difficult for the party to carry out its responsibilities.
Muhyiddin has been increasingly vocal in his criticism of Najib after the latter sacked him from his deputy prime minister's post last year following his public comments on 1MDB and the RM2.6 billion donation issue. -Mkini
