PETALING JAYA: Former Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamad Khir Toyo was granted parole on Thursday after serving six-months of his one year sentence at Kajang Prison.
Roslan Dian, who is said to be Khir’s good friend, told FMT that Khir was granted parole and would come under the supervision of a parole officer.
Khir was convicted of abuse of power as a civil servant in the purchase of two lots of land and a bungalow in Shah Alam worth RM6.5 million for RM3.5 million in 2007.
The Federal Court, on Sept 29 last year, sentenced Khir to 12 months’ imprisonment.
