PM Najib summons BN parliamentarians to his official residence

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has summoned BN MPs to his official residence tonight.
According to Berita Harian, BN MPs began arriving at Seri Perdana since 8pm.
The report said the meeting is for preparations ahead of the Parliament sitting which will commence on Monday.
The meeting also comes a day after former premier Mahathir Mohamad joined forces with the opposition and civil society to sign the Citizens' Declaration.
The declaration called for the ouster of Najib as prime minister through democratic and legal means, and demanded for institutional reforms.
Despite the declaration, Najib did not appear to be in any immediate danger as BN leaders have come out strongly to back the prime minister.
Previous attempts by the opposition to table a motion of no-confidence against Najib have failed.
The opposition's bid to defeat Najib's budget last year as a sign of no-confidence also did not succeed.
However, in contrast to the Parliament sitting last year, Umno MPs such as Muhyiddin Yassin and Shafie Apdal have now declared open war on Najib.
This means they are more likely now to vote with the opposition.
Nonetheless, the handful of Umno rebel MPs together with the opposition are still insufficient to mount a no-confidence vote against Najib.
PAS has also been vague about its stance on Najib, with most of its MPs having abstained during the budget vote last year instead of joining the rest of the opposition to vote against it. -Mkini
