Tengku Adnan says that he personally feels Muhyiddin and Mukhriz should quit Umno after no longer being in agreement with the party.
PUTRAJAYA: Umno’s Disciplinary Committee has received a report on Muhyiddin Yassin and Mukhriz Mahathir who are continuing with their criticisms against the Umno president and have become pro-opposition, said Umno Secretary-General Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
Tengku Adnan, who is also Federal Territories Minister, said as a party with a structure, action according to the rules of the party constitution was needed even though basically their actions could result in disciplinary action taken like suspension of their membership or outright sacking.
“We are not like other political parties which sack members as they like, Umno has rules and regulations that have to be followed as stipulated in the party constitution,” he said when met by reporters after an excellence awards ceremony for Putrajaya schools here today.
“Wait for the next Umno Supreme Council meeting because I am also waiting for the Disciplinary Committee to inform us,” he said.
Tengku Adnan, who is also the Putrajaya MP, added that he personally felt that suspended Umno deputy president Muhyiddin and former Kedah menteri besar Mukhriz should quit Umno after no longer being in agreement with the party.
