Rafizi: I don't know who gave me classified documents

PKR’s Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli says he has no idea as to who furnished him with the classified document that enabled him to link 1MDB with Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT).
Rafizi also denied that his allies, DAP lawmakers Tan Seng Giaw and Tony Pua, or any member of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), had given him the classified page of auditor-general's report on 1MDB, as speculated by certain quarters.
A startled Rafizi said this was the first time he is hearing about a certain party linking Pua and Tan to him receiving the classified document.
"Frankly speaking, if you ask me, my hunch is that I don't think (the whistleblower is) anyone from PAC," he told the media.
This is because, he said, his allies in PAC never share information on the PAC proceedings, and other MPs do not ask about it as they understand the confidentiality with which PAC works.
"If that's how it has always been before, I do not see why, suddenly, anyone would breach that.
"I don't think the person who left the document for me was from the PAC. It doesn't look like it. But, of course, I am not in a position to know this," Rafizi stressed.
'Whistleblowers will never leave a trail'
Elaborating further, he said, whistleblowers would never leave a trail behind them.
"I have no idea who gave me the document," he stressed.
The PKR vice-president, who rose to fame following his expose on the RM250 million National Feedlot Corporation scandal, claimed that he now gets all sort of documents and information, on a weekly basis.
"I am sure these people will continue to provide the documents to me," he said.
Rafizi had made public the contents of a classified page from the auditor-general's report on 1MDB on March 28, which he claimed showed the link between 1MDB and LTAT.
He also lodged a report against 1MDB boss Arul Kanda Kandasamy and the 1MDB management team for diverting RM288 million in government funds meant for an LTAT subsidiary to pay off 1MDB’s debt interest.
Yesterday, PAC member Liang Teck Meng lodged a police report against Rafizi for revealing a classified page from the auditor-general's report on 1MDB. -Mkini
