1,754 polling centres close, low voter turn-out

5.55pm: In Bukit Assek, DAP is leading with 1,563, BN 1,226.
In Meradong (a DAP seat), BN is leading 3,294 to DAP’s 2,040.
In Dudong (a DAP seat), BN is leading with 2,748 and
DAP 857, independent 1,692.
5.50pm: In Tasik Biru, BN has polled 3,989 against DAP’s 2,678.
In Padungan, DAP is leading with 763 to BN 659.
In Mambong, BN is leading with 4,572, PKR 2,175 and DAP 1061.
5.30pm: The Star reports BN has taken an early lead in many constituencies, including several Chinese areas such as Batu Kitang and Batu Kawah in Kuching and Bawang Assan in Sibu.
Chief Minister Adenan Satem looks a likely winner Tanjung Datu.
5pm: All polling centres close, counting begins.
Election Commission reports low voter turnout of 52% as of 4pm.
