KTM trains collide, passengers sustain minor injuries

A KTM passenger train from Butterworth to Kuala Lumpur had collided with a KTM ETS high-speed train from KL to Ipoh this afternoon.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department deputy operations director Sani Harul said both trains were passing through the Batang Kali commuter station when the accident happened.
“The train from Butterworth have 13 carriages but only three carriages were involved in a collision with the six-carriage ETS train,” Sani said.
He also confirmed that there were 510 passengers on board both trains.
“Three passengers who sustained minor injuries were sent to the nearest hospital for treatment,” Sani said.
Sani added that Fire and Rescue Department personnel from the Kuala Kubu Baru and Puchong stations had arrived on site about 20 minutes after receiving a call at 1.48pm.
