PAS declares Adenan fever might be BN headache next GE

The tides may turn against Sarawak Chief Minister Adenan Satem in the next general election, despite his big win last night, state PAS said.
Sarawak PAS secretary Muhtar Suhaili said Adenan could suffer the same fate as former premier Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
"Yesterday BN won big because of Adenan fever. This is a repeat of what happened in 2004 when Pak Lah had a big win.
"So who knows, in the next election, PAS may win big too, based on that," Muhtar said at a press conference in Miri today.
Riding on a feel good factor, Abdullah had led BN to its biggest ever win in 2004, during his first general election as prime minister.
This was however followed by the 2008 political tsunami which saw PAS, together with DAP and PKR, make strong gains, denying BN a two-thirds majority in Parliament.

Adenan had scored a landslide victory for BN yesterday, winning 72 out of 82 seats, and retaking five seats from DAP.
PAS was defeated in all 11 Sarawak state seats it contested, and lost deposits in two constituencies.
Muhtar however said this election had laid the groundwork for PAS to continue building itself up in Sarawak and be more acceptable to the public. -Mkini
