Minister in the PM's Department and MCA deputy president will resume his duties after his surgery abroad later this week.
PETALING JAYA: Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Dr Wee Ka Siong is scheduled for spinal surgery abroad this week followed by a brief period of rest and recovery.
According to a report by The Star Online, Wee has pledged to resume his duties and continue to serve the rakyat and nation as soon as possible.
The portal also reported that all of Wee’s official duties would be assumed by Transport Minister and MCA president Liow Tiong Lai during this period.
Wee is in charge of Small Medium Enterprises and oversees the affairs of Chinese new villages.
He also serves as MCA deputy president, and is the MP for Ayer Hitam, Johor.
