It will take action if a report is lodged against the lecturer teaching the compulsory Islamic and Asian Civilisation Studies (Titas) subject.

PETALING JAYA: The Multimedia University (MMU) today stated it would investigate an Islamic and Asian Civilisation Studies (Titas) lecturer who questioned the existence of Osama bin Laden and the Sept 11 terrorist attacks.
Malay Mail Online reported that the Cyberjaya campus of the local private university said it was not aware whether a report had been lodged with the administration so far over the Titas class held this morning.
“Rest assured that an investigation shall be conducted the moment we receive a report with regard to this issue,” an MMU spokesman told the news portal.
“The university has a code of conduct that all our staff, including academicians, are expected to adhere to. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.”
An MMU student told Malay Mail Online that the Titas lecture at the Cyberjaya campus this morning taught that Osama might not have existed, as the late militant only spoke “three seconds of Arabic” in his videos.
He also said the Sept 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, that killed 3,000, could have been a conspiracy theory used by the West to persecute Muslims and not to believe anything the Western media says.
The Titas module was made mandatory for all tertiary students regardless of religion in 2013 and sparked controversy recently over slides at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) that portrayed the Hindus as “dirty”.
