CHINESE FIRMS DON'T EMPLOY MALAYS: OMG, THE GREATEST INSULT - BY THE MALAYS TO THEMSELVES

The assertion by academician Ridhuan Tee Abdullah and Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman that the Chinese in the private sector do not employ Malays are groundless and manufactured to sow racial hatred, tear race relations aside by uttering sheer nonsense devoid of meaning or value.

Not only do their words betray hatred aimed at humiliating Chinese businessmen, his comments in fact discriminate and stigmatise Malays, as they demean the competitiveness and performance of Malays at the workplace.

I would like to stress that in the Malaysian job market, there are so many Malays working in the private sector and wielding senior management positions. Both Tajuddin and Ridhuan Tee are living in their little cocoon. They do not the least bit comprehend the realities of the real world. Their remark renders them a laughing stock as it is simply nonsense.

Ultimately, who is belittling the capability and performance of the Malays? They are none other than the likes of Tajuddin Abdul Rahmand and Ridhuan Tee Abdullah.

Tajuddin and Ridhuan have established stereotypes based on racial profiling. However in the employment market, companies recruit personnel based on experiences, qualifications, resilience and quality at work, adaptability rather than relying solely on skin colour or ethnic factors.

To support the economic growth of the nation, SMEs which consist mainly of Chinese businesses, employ many Malay staff. This shows there is no racial distinction when Chinese businesses hire employees, but all ethnicities are employed to fill the job market. Recruitment into the private sector has nothing to do with race.

By Tajuddin’s own admission, 1.5 million Malays have joined the Malaysian civil service. Besides the 1.5 million Malays in civil service, do the rest of the Malays suffer from unemployment? Are those Malays not working in the private sector and even the Chinese-owned corporations? Tajuddin’s remarks are self-contradictory.
