Confirmed : Chinese Schools Most Multi Racial In The Country

This has been the case for a few years already now. This is from FMT :

  • Study: Chinese schools may be main schools in 10 years
  • August 5, 2016
  • five reasons why non-Malay parents not sending children to national schools
  • Prof Dr Teo Kok Seong
  • two-year research by National Education Advisory Council
  • in 10 years, Chinese schools may turn into mainstream schools
  • may replace national schools
  • likely to be more multiracial
  • number of Malay parents registering children 18% this year
  • Prof Dr Teo said national schools only 4% non-Malay
  • while Chinese schools 18% non-Chinese students
  • non Chinese numbers (in Chinese schools) expected to go up each year
  • vernacular schools, within 10 years, to become mainstream schools
  • more non-Chinese parents refusing to enrol kids in national schools
  • Education Blueprint target to attract more non Malay to govt schools likely fail
  • more parents planning to register children in vernacular, private schools
  • study listed five main reasons keeping parents away from national schools.

1. poor teaching and delivery methods by teachers
2. administration of national schools dominated by one race
3. schools seen as Islamic
4. disciplinary issues a major problem
5. schools not maintained well, outdated computers.
  • recommend teachers good in a subject appointed head of subject
  • so that teacher able to guide other teachers well
  • For instance, if Indian teacher good in English, should head unit
  • instead, preference given to someone not capable of guiding others
  • same with school’s principal
  • head of school should be most capable to run school
  • should not be preference according to race
  • Parents want someone capable of teaching, disciplining
  • if this can be done, able to attract non-Malays to national schools
  • constant clash between Muslim and non-Muslim parents
  • Muslim parents felt not enough Islam in national schools
  • non-Muslim parents not in favour of religious recitations in school assembly
  • non-Muslim uncomfortable with religious songs during assembly
  • constant tug-of-war on this issue
  • causing non-Muslim  to send children to Chinese / private schools
  • sensitive and no end to discussion between parents
6. Malay parents concerned about quality of education
7. national school teachers not doing best for their children
8. Malay child not able to catch up with fast moving world
9. Malay parents want children to excel in mathematics
10. love up-to-date computer and sports facilities at Chinese schools.
11. “They know their children are in good hands.”

12. President of Mubarak said national schools de facto Malay schools
13. this hampered unity among races
14. He said there were only Malays in these schools
15. labelled national schools Malay secondary schools
My comments :  Are any of you blog readers alumni of the Bukit Bintang Boys School? It used to be among the top schools in the country. Now it is a Tier 5 school (or lower). Folks say there is a tier system to grade schools. Lowest tier being Tier 7 or 8. Bukit Bintang Boys School is now in the lower rungs.

Are any of you blog readers alumni of the Kampong Tunku primary school in PJ (Sek Ren Keb Kampong Tunku, Petaling Jaya). It used to produce the highest number of 5A students in the Penilaian Darjah Lima examinations (before it became UPSR). Now it is also a Tier 5 - 7 school or something like that. It has sunk down to the lower rungs.

The gomen has let the fantastic school system that we had just decay and become crap.  Why? See 1 to 5 above and 12 to 15 above, and more.

Lets tackle the religion issue. Why are gomen schools almost like madrassahs? Why baca doa, recite Quran or other religious mantras during school assembly? Why not baca doaand recite Quran among Muslim students only during the agama class? Why force other races and religion to listen to the baca doa and baca Quran?

What is the educational value of baca doa and baca Quran during the school assembly? Even the Malay students do not understand what is being read? So why do it?

The answer is "ketuanan". You just want to make the statement that this country is run by the Muslims.  And so we will do what we like. If we baca doa and recite Quran during school assembly, then you just have to accept it. (Plus the nons are pendatangs anyway, they must learn to respect us. Fuiyyo.)

I want to digress. Here is a picture of a recent Class Reunion of my schoolmates.

This is the Anglo Chinese School Ipoh Class of 77. Although I left this school in 1974, these were my classmates and schoolmates for seven years from Std 1 until Form 1. If there is such a thing as a 'soul' (there is none) then these would be my 'soul buddies'.

In this batch there are the usual doctors, engineers, professors, corporate guys and such. There are Boeing pilots (flying now for Saudia and maybe also in Iraq), helicopter pilots, and a world class ballet performer (now choreographer). One guy runs a company here that services jet engines for commercial airlines. Another is a consultant civil engineer. Othersare scattered all over the world with our classmates doing well in Canada, USA and elsewhere. At least two PhDs here - one based in the US and another a high flying university professor here.  Malays, Chinese, Indians and three Punjabis (of which two are doctors and one is a senior engineer.)  There are also national hockey players in this picture. State level swimmers (we have a swimming pool) and national level badminton players.

A few more doctors could not make it, also a multi millionaire IT entrepreneur. Oh I forgot, and then there is also me OutSyed The Box !!  This was our Class of 1977 from the Anglo Chinese School, Ipoh.

Here is the best part -  almost ALL of   us here came from simple, non privileged backgrounds. Children of  government clerks, school teachers, JKR workers, policemen and so on. Yet after going through the Anglo Chinese School and our fantastic education system at that time (which was at par or better than Singapore) this is the outcome.  These are the products of a good education system.

This is what we had before. It was a fantastic system that was working perfectly. Why did you morons have to go and change it?

The same can be said of many old and famous schools.  But maybe not anymore. The Bukit Bintang Boys School is now Tier 7?

The gomen takes taxpayers money and invests it in the residential schools, which are mostly for one race only. How can you create 'unity and harmony' when you put children in one race, one religion schools? What type of unity and harmony are you talking about?

These residential schools have effectively become one race, one religion ghettoes. Why are you all so stupid? Why cant you people think?

Plus now they have also created maktab rendah morons which have become like madrasahs. They have horse riding and archery to emulate the desert arab culture.

Prof Dr Teo Kok Seong, by divulging all this information (from your survey) which shows that Chinese schools are now the most multi racial, I think you are inviting trouble.  18% of Chinese school students are non Chinese and you say this number will increase. In contrast only 4% of students are non Malay in gomen schools.

By saying that Chinese schools will eventually become mainstream schools in 10 years (meaning the majority of Malay students will go to Chinese schools by 2026) you are attracting a lot of wrong attention.

Now the loonies among them will start screaming more that Chinese schools be shut down  (be prepared)  or maybe someone may pass some sort of  fatwa that Muslim students should not attend Chinese schools.

(Having said that I must say I have my own views about Chinese, Tamil, religious schools but that is not relevant now).

At this moment in our history if you send your kids to the gomen school, they may come out dumber than before they went in.

The same is not true for Chinese schools. Just yesterday I was speaking to an 8 year old Chinese girl (sitting at the next table at the Ikea Cafeteria) who spoke perfect English very confidently and was telling me that her mom does not allow her to play Pokemon Go. She almost helped me download the App on my fone - which did not happen. (Both of us were waiting for the adults to return with the food.)

Not just mathematics, science, discipline and sports have improved tremendously in Chinese schools but also English, music, dance and the arts. For a certainty the Chinese schools are contributing tremendously towards the well being of this country.

So please leave them alone. Let them do what they are doing very well.

If you want to 'beat' the Chinese schools, then do what we did at the ACS School in Ipoh up to the early eighties.    I must say that in the 70s the gomen schools beat the Chinese schools hands down.  We were the best.

We still are. We did not grow up in subsidy overdosed, religion insane, mono racial ghettoes which are producing low achievers who think they are high achievers.

To conclude let me reproduce what that president of the Mubarak said above :

12. President of Mubarak said national schools de facto Malay schools
13. this hampered unity among races
14. He said there were only Malays in these schools
15. labelled national schools Malay secondary schools

Ini bukan saya cakap. Ini 'presiden Mubarak' cakap.
