DUMP NAJIB OR BECOME A PARIAH COUNTRY: NOW OR NEVER, MALAYSIANS MUST CHOSE THEIR ROAD MAP

As Merdeka approaches this time round, Malaysians are fraught with difficult thoughts over whether they should follow the present Barisan Nasional (BN) government’s road map to a failed state or opt for a new Malaysian order. This is a difficult period, a defining time in the history of the nation as it reaches the crossroads and decide or opt on which path to take for the future.
This is certainly not the time to be shy or inferior or to be silent and quiet. It is time for Malaysians, the many Malaysians who are clamoring for change to voice their thoughts and ideas that will take the country forward to a peaceful, prosperous and progressive nation.
Every Malaysian citizen has the right to speak and express themselves. But what they must be saying and what they are expressing should take us forward towards a better position. It is not enough to just voice these thoughts and ideas but it must be transformed into the change that sees this country going towards truly advanced and developed status.
This is the time for frank and open discourse and debate. Nothing must be hid or classified as sensitive or secretive. It is time for Malaysians to drag the skeletons out of the closet of this 59-year-old establishment, this country that is due for a major overhaul of democracy and a thorough spring cleaning.
If the majority of Malaysians have been silently waiting all this while for the right time and opportunity, this is the time, this is the time and they should seize the opportunity to make the changes they want to see and to seal this changes in the coming 14th general election schedule for the first quarter of 2018.
After 59 years of Merdeka
The turn of the New Millennium was when, in this country, there started to blow the winds of a political tsunami, when the strong winds of change began to billow over this country and slowly but surely bringing about changes up to now.
In the face of these expected changes, the BN government, which has exclusively governed this country since Merdeka in 1957 were almost totally unprepared for these changing scenarios.
It looks as if indirectly, for the first time in the history of this nation, the three major races of Malays, Chinese and Indians were pulling together in an unforced bid to try and make changes to the way and manner that this country was being governed.
Finally, it looked as if the ‘rakyat’ or people no longer wanted to be hoodwinked or have wool pulled over their eyes by a deceptive government that has been busy nurturing corruption, cronyism, nepotism and collusion to create a wedge between the governing elite of this country and the rest of Malaysians.
In the light of these discoveries that were made mainly through social media, Malaysians have demonstrated from time to time and the politics of this country by the opposition political parties have changed to keep in tune with the wishes of the people.
But in the same vein, the governing BN political party has refused to budge and change to meet the aspirations and wishes of the people because they seem to have lost touch with the ordinary Malaysian.
Now to the 14th GE
This is why the period now up to the 14th general election is a critical period where Malaysians will have to decide in which direction they wish to pull. It’s really a choice between the old politics of BN and the switch that is needed to move towards a new Malaysian order.
The end of the old world politics of BN is easily evident as all the indications point to them following the road map to a failed state.
It’s not just a critical period but its a period when those who are able and can make a difference for the better of this country be given full time and space to lead us and direct us to safety and security and well-being.
It is time for Malaysians to pay heed and listen to the voices of reason, irrespective of their race or religion. Malaysians must learn to look beyond and live above race and religion and forge a partnership of equals to form a Malaysian race.
Together as one, as One Nation, One Voice, Malaysians will be able to resolve any differences amicably and restore the damage that has been done to the psyche and well being of this nation over the last six decades of Merdeka being governed by authoritarianism and totalitarian regimes which has only served to benefit the minority elite of this country while the majority of Malaysians languish.
Now is the time for Malaysians to enforce change and to put a stop to evil, unfair practices and to put in place the full tenets and obligations of true democracy including fair play, justice and meritocracy in this country. Christopher Fernandez/ MAILBAG
