Anwar Ibrahim told the Syariah High Court judge in Shah Alam today that senior lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah had included extra details on his sodomy case when giving a talk organised by Umno Youth last year.
The former opposition leader said Shafee's additions were not part of the proceedings in his Sodomy II trial, adding that he was willing to furnish the court documents to prove this.
Anwar also maintained the sodomy incident did not happened as alleged by Shafee, even though the Federal Court last year upheld the PKR de facto chief's conviction and sentenced him to five years' jail for the criminal offence.
Testifying in his qazaf (bearing false witness) suit against Shafee today, Anwar told judge Mohamed Fouzi Mokhtar that he learned of Shafee's talk when he was serving his prison sentence.
"Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, my wife, and lawyer Fadhlina Sidek informed me about the talk," he said.
Anwar also submitted several news reports, one each from Malaysiakini, Free Malaysia Today and Utusan Online articles, on the talk held by Shafee on February 17 in Kelana Jaya.
He also submitted a copy of Malaysiakini's recording of Shafee's talk held.
