Pemerhati: Allah seems to work in mysterious ways. Several years ago, Allah sent a ‘kafir’ named Jho Low to meet a believer named Najib. The kafir allegedly helped Najib to ‘steal’ billions by carrying out a scam called 1MDB.
One estimate puts the amount stolen at about US$7 billion. Jho Low’s share of the alleged loot is estimated at over US$1billion. Najib’s share of the alleged loot is not known but could be higher.
Earlier the believer Dzulkifli Ahmad, who was the secretary to the special task force investigating 1MDB, played a role in clearing PM Najib Abdul Razak of wrongdoing and thus clearly contravened verse 27 of the Quran which he himself quoted.
So why is Allah allowing him to head the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) as he has shown by his previous action that he cannot be trusted to act according to verse 27 and is likely to again protect Najib?
Perhaps that is why they say God works in mysterious ways and what we are seeing now is just the beginning of a much longer story, and eventually the guilty and their protectors will get punished.

Most Malaysians would just pray that he would uphold the law and charge those who plundered the nation’s billions in the 1MDB scandal. True colour showing on first day, that's a record even in Malaysia.

The fact remains that he was one of the key figures involved in clearing Najib from any wrongdoing and he was eventually proved wrong.
Quigonbond: I'm sure if someone is pious, guidance from a higher power is always sign of him/her being god-fearing and with that, has the capacity to act with honesty and courage.
But I think a better answer would have been he is guided by the constitution, wisdom and rule of law.

The question in everybody's mind is what this man can do to eliminate corruption. Start from the top without mercy and all will fall in line.

I wholeheartedly agree that it was grossly wrong of you to identify Malaysian Official 1 (MO1) as Najib Abdul Razak. They are two completely distinct and separate individuals.
Yes, Najib is also a senior official in the Malaysian government. Yes, he is and was and is also a person holding a position of authority in 1MDB. Yes, he has also got several gifts in monetary form, one of which was cash to the tune of US$681 million.
That one he has received from a son of the king of Saudi Arabia. And, yes, Najib is also related to Riza Aziz. But he and MO1 are not one and the same person. No, sir! Trust me. Cross my heart and swear to live.
Only two days ago, Najib was reported to have asserted that everything with 1MDB was all hunky-dory. His brilliant ministers and officers have confirmed that no money has been stolen from 1MDB. Even his publicly-paid personal lawyer has confirmed that there was no proof of money having been embezzled from 1MDB.
I will now tell you who exactly MO1 is so that you will no longer confuse him with Najib. He is more senior than Najib. He is, in fact, the top official in the Malaysian government. He does not only hold a position of authority in 1MDB but he is actually the (emphasised 'the’) authority.
Practically nothing goes unless he approves it. Where Najib got his billions in gifts from the Saudi royal family, MO1 the kleptomaniac stole his from 1MDB and SRC International.

In the New York Times, an unnamed US Department of Justice (DOJ) official confirmed MO1 is Najib Razak. Come on, who else could it be?
