Police report may have pre-empted Rosmah's magnanimity

With the barrage of slander arrayed against her name, it warms the heart to read about the magnanimity of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's wife, Rosmah Mansor, in forgiving all those who wronged her.
As her aide Rizal Mansor said, the wife of the prime minister does not let such things affect her due to her philosophy of life, and being staunch in the belief that slander will never defeat truth.
“Though attacked with numerous lies and insults, she remains calm and cool,” Rizal said, adding that Rosmah is someone who does not easily get upset.
“She is magnanimous, forgiving those who slander her, although those behind the slander never open their hearts to seek an apology from her,” he added in a Facebook posting featuring a photograph of Rosmah in devout prayer.
According to Rizal, Rosmah has accepted this as part and parcel of being the wife of the country’s highest leader.
“Her philosophy of life is that lies will never defeat the truth,” he added, noting that one of the signs of the end of times is the widespread use of slander in all forms.
However, on Monday, a police report was lodged against owners of four Facebook accounts for defaming the sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah, and Rosmah.
The police report was publicised by none other than Rizal himself in a Facebook posting, in which he alsouploaded a copy of the police report lodged by Mohd Azli Jaffar at the Klang district police station.
“A police report has been lodged against parties who uploaded and shared the photos with intention to shame, mock and slander DYMM Sultan Pahang and the prime minister’s wife.
“In relation to that, this matter has been handed over to the authorities to investigate and take appropriate action. Please be informed,” Rizal said in his posting.
The report was lodged against social media postings based on several photographs taken during Najib’s annual Hari Raya open house function in Pekan, Pahang, last Saturday, which had gone viral and implied that Rosmah had inappropriately cozied up to the sultan.
Other photographs taken at another angle showed that the matter of the PM's wife cozying up was an optical illusion created from the angle of the photography, for she was in reality an arm's length away from the sultan.
In any case, one wonders if the originator of the police report was aware of Rosmah's magnanimity and her propensity to forgive wrongs done to her.
Maybe Rizal should have explained Rosmah's philosophy to the person who reported the matter to the police, as it made it seem as if his posting on Rosmah's magnanimity was a mockery.
Indeed, one wonders if those who lodged police reports against the woman who threw yellow balloons at the prime minister knew that Rosmah would not have condoned any action taken against her detractors, for she, as Rizal told us, would willingly forgive all slander and insults. The authorities and defenders of PM Najib and the ruling party would do well to take a leaf from Rosmah's nobly magnanimous stand on forgiveness of one's detractors and abandon all punitive actions against those who have hurt their feelings through the abuse of network facilities, for example.

Nor do I think it would magnanimous if Rosmah condones the lightning morning raid against the heavily pregnant consultant Syarul Ema Rena Abu Samah (photo above, on right), also known by her online moniker Ratu Naga, for posting the pictures, though Syarul Ema herself never stated anything about "cozying up" in her posting, which only said Rosmah looked cute.
What would have happened if the consultant, who is de to give birth at the end of this week, is to have a premature birth from the stress of the raid by 14 police and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission officers, or from the several long hours of questioning at the commission's headquarters later in the day.
Magnanimous Rosmah would not condone that, would she? What more she as a mother herself would feel for Ratu Naga. - Mkini
