War Inside Saudi Arabia : Yemenis Capture Al-Farida Military Base in Najran, Seize Al-Fawaz Hill Overlooking City

This is today's news 13th September 2016 from inside Saudi Arabia.  The Saudis are losing more men, material and territory to the Yemeni forces. 

You will not see or read this news in any of the mainstream media (RTM, TV3, BH, Utusan, NST, Astro etc). Neither will you see it on CNN, CBS, CNBC, BBC, FOX, ABC etc.

This is going to be a real problem for a lot of people. Here are two news items: 

1.    Yemeni forces capture Saudi military camp in Jizan



Jizan, Saudi Arabia (5:20 A.M.) - Yemeni forces continued their large-scale offensive in the southern countryside of Saudi Arabia, targeting the Saudi military camps in the Jizan Region.

Yemen reported on Sunday night that Yemeni forces managed to capture the Al-Farida Military Camp in the Jizan Region after a fierce battle with the Saudis.

In addition to capturing this military site, the Yemeni forces confiscated the Saudi Army's heavy weapons and Abrams Tanks that were left behind.

Al-Farida Military Camp is located near the contested city of Al-Khabuh in the Jizan Region; it was one of the Saudi Army's main bases in this area.

The Yemeni forces are made up of small guerilla units who only have hand held weapons. The Saudis are equipped with a full range of weapons provided by the US and UK. These include artillery, mortars, M1 Abrams tanks, Bradley APVs, Humvees, LAW anti tank missiles, machine guns, grenade launchers and other weapons.

Yet as you can see in all these videos the Saudi troops throw down their weapons, abandon their positions and just cut and run away.

2.  Yemeni forces capture key Saudi hill in Najran

Najran, Saudi Arabia (4:40 A.M.) -  Yemeni forces continued large-scale advance in the southern countryside of Saudi Arabia this week, capturing more territory near the key city of Najran.

According to local sources, the Yemeni forces and their allies managed to capture Al-Fawaz Hill from the Saudi Army after a short battle this past weekend.

The capture of Al-Fawaz Hill is an important step to capturing Najran because it overlooks the Saudi city from the southeastern perimeter.

As you can see in the last part of this video it overlooks the Saudi Arabian city of Najran.

Comments : The Yemenis do not have division sized army units nor the heavy vehicles (tanks, armour, APVs, even jeeps) or artillery to capture a large Saudi Arabian city like Najran (population 300,000) via a frontal assault.

So they are sending waves of small units of guerilla fighters (you can see in the video) to flush out Saudi military posts as well as army camps. Todate these small guerilla units are doing a very credible job. 

In an extremely rocky and mountainous region, the Yemenis are occupying the high positions around Najran and will most likely begin low intensity shelling to empty the cityof its remaining inhabitants and troops.  

The occupation of Najran will be more psychological than of strategic value. 
  
There are no reports of the Yemenis committing atrocities, mutilations, barbaric behaviour, raping women, beheading Wahabis, shooting prisoners, looting homes etc.

The Yemeni guerrillas appear extremely well disciplined and brave in battle. 


Lets see what happens. The 29 year old Saudi defense minister is having endless sleepless nights.
