BOMBSHELL – NAJIB PAINTS HIMSELF & MALAYSIA INTO 1MDB CORNER: WILL TRUMP BAN MALAYSIAN MUSLIMS AS WELL?

A rising tide of Islamic intolerance
Radical Islam gaining mainstream resonance in Indon and Malaysia
drowning out moderate views and voices
Recent terror attacks in Indonesia and Malaysia
orchestrated by local groups with ties to ISIS
growing radicalization in both Muslim majority countries

rising risk among mainstream public

lurch towards conservative positions by prominent political parties

growth of Islamic groups that target religious and ethnic minorities
Indonesia fault-line between santri (orthodox Islam) and abangan (syncretic faith)new factors contributing to increasing intolerant trend
rise of Salafism from Saudi Arabia (Wahhabism), associated with ISIS, Al-Qaeda
sect arrived with great force in 1980s
scholars educated in Saudi Arabia returned home
fuelled by growing Saudi hegemony in Islamic world
Salafi influence has “contributed more intolerant atmosphere”
Salafi movement gaining ground through broadcast media
  • Ahmad Fauzi Abdul Hamid professor political science,  USM
  • Malaysian Muslims surely but slowly becoming radicalized
  • Salafi-oriented curricula in schools as a cause
  • People don’t realize it, but (Salafi) thinking now mainstream

violence in the name of jihad added volatile element to the mix
Jan 14, 2016 ISIS terrorists detonated explosions in Jakarta, 7 dead
Malaysia ISIS attack in June, 8 people injured in Puchong
more puritanical approach to Islamic community
radical ideology spread over social media

ISIS supporters send 2.8 million messages per day over Twitter

Extremist use social media to spread radical ideology in Indonesia
Indon largest Muslim organization, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU)
launched campaign to counter jihadi ideology
underscored local traditions of non-violence, tolerance, secularism
spread of shallow understanding of Islam renders this situation critical
NU claims that Islamic teaching influences extremism
literal readings of fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) allow slavery, executions
serious thoughtful debate must be held over Islamic texts
Open discussion can be difficult in Indonesia.
“silent majority” in Acheh “not brave enough to say anything” (about shariah)
“Everybody became a hypocrite.”

72% Indons favored Sharia law
In M’sia, 86% said they did, > Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt.

60% Msians, 48% Indons thought stoning to death appropriate for adultery
My comments :  Ever since President Trump banned Muslims from seven countries entry into the USA (for 120 days) I have been receiving quite a few messages from Muslim friends who are very unhappy and critical of Trump’s action.

It looks like all Muslims want to visit Disneyland (err . . .or  . . Disney World . . . for the New Village hacks).

Shouldnt people be happy that Trump has banned Muslims from entering the USA?

I mean isnt the US a kafir country?
Isnt the USA the Great Satan?

Why do you want to visit a kafir country?
Why would you want to visit the “Great Satan”?
Are you also a satan?
Perhaps a smaller one?

Even Iranian President Rouhani Abbas (the country which labelled America the ‘Great Satan’) is complaining bitterly.   Iran has decided to retaliate by banning US citizens from entering Iran.

Wow ! !  Farhan will not be able to sell his latest voice activated, hands free web-cam to American tourists. Aw shucks.

I would like to focus on what Prof Ahmad Fauzi Abdul Hamid has said :
  • Ahmad Fauzi Abdul Hamid professor political science,  USM
  • Malaysian Muslims surely but slowly becoming radicalized
  • Salafi-oriented curricula in schools as a cause
  • People don’t realize it, but (Salafi) thinking now mainstream
This is a correct observation by the good Professor.  Even a Cabinet Minister is pro Salafi.
Our Counter Terror expert Dato Ayub Khan has already warned us about the dangerous Salafi influence.
Whether you like it or not, ALL the ISIS murderers are Salafis.
They share the same mixed up ideology.
