Malaysian student deported from Jordan for overstaying

A Malaysian student was deported by Jordanian authorities today, for overstaying.
The Foreign Ministry, citing reports which it had received, said Ahmad Musa Alnuwayri Kamaruzaman's student visa had lapsed in November 2015.
"He was instructed by the Jordanian authorities to exit Jordan within seven days at the end of November 2016, which he failed to do," it said in a statement.
Ahmad Musa was subsequently detained by Jordanian authorities on Jan 20, this year.

The statement said the Malaysian Embassy in Amman was duly notified on the detention and officials from the mission visited him to ensure his wellbeing.
It said the embassy received good cooperation from Jordanian authorities in handling the matter.
"The ministry would like to remind all Malaysians in Jordan to abide and respect local laws and regulations, especially pertaining to immigration laws to avoid unnecessary difficulties," it added.
