SODOMIZED & SLANDEROUS: SAIFUL CLAIMS ANWAR’S FAMILY ASKED HIM TO SEEK ROYAL PARDON FROM AGONG

PETALING JAYA: Saiful Bukhari Azlan, who previously said he was sodomised by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, claims that the PKR leader’s family approached him over a royal pardon.
In a Facebook post Thursday, Anwar’s former aide said a close friend of the jailed opposition leader had visited him.
“The person, in his personal capacity, apologised to me and said that he was there representing Anwar’s family.
“I am unsure if he really came to speak for the family, but he requested for me, as the complainant, to seek a royal pardon from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong for Anwar to be released.
“This is without changing or withdrawing my statements or accusations,” he said.
Saiful added that the person also told him that he had locus standi as the complainant in the case and that the King could pardon him under Article 42 of the Federal Constitution.
“He told me that Anwar had already served two years of his sentence and suggested that he could have repented by now.
“That person also told me that according to Islamic law, the victim or their children could forgive and pardon the accused to either have the punishment made lighter or to be freed altogether,” he said.
Saiful added that he told the person that he would think about it and would make a decision after speaking to his family.
“However, I do wonder if his intentions were genuine or whether they just want Anwar to contest in the next general election,” he said.
Anwar’s family, however, has denied Saiful’s claim.
His daughter Nurul Nuha told a news portal that the claim was “nothing but slander” and stressed that the family had not contacted Saiful.
