HOW IS ZAKIR NAIK A THREAT? PERLIS MUFTI ASKS

(MMO) – Perlis Mufti Datuk Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin questioned today how Dr Zakir Naik was a threat to Malaysia after a group of activists sued the government to get the Indian preacher deported.
“It’s not unusual if they were from non-Muslim groups or kafirs (non-believers) who dislike preachers. However, what’s unusual is if there are those professing themselves to be Muslims, but asking that the Muslim preacher who is famous for his oration be caught?
“What proof is there that he threatened? Is it because there were Hindus who converted to Islam (after attending Dr Zakir’s talks), which made them so sensitive? Or are there other reasons?” Mohd Asri, popularly known as Dr Maza, wrote on his Facebook page today.
A group of 19 human rights activists filed a civil suit against the Malaysian government earlier today, accusing it of failing to protect the country from Dr Zakir. Muslims among the 19 plaintiffs included lawyers Siti Kasim and Asiah Abd Jalil, and one Mujahidin Zulkifli.
The suit, among others, sought a government declaration that Dr Zakir was a threat to national security, called for a ban to prevent him from entering the country, and for him to be arrested and deported immediately.
Although the application called for an order for Dr Zakir to be arrested and deported, the group did not provide any proof that the Indian national was currently residing in Malaysia, save for his recent public appearances such as in Shah Alam and Perlis.
Although a fugitive in India, Deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed had previously said that the controversial Islamic preacher was free to travel in Malaysia because he was not on any security watch list here.
He has been reported by several Indian newspapers to be on the run to avoid prosecution in India for terrorism.

  2. if coz non muslim will be a little annoyed when non muslim accepts islam after listening to zakir naik...if we as muslim want to battle with non muslim which religion is the right religion, we have to also allow non muslim preachers to preach openly to everyone including muslims in this country...thats what we called fair game....here we dont allow that to happen afraid muslim might leave islam and accept other faith....we muslims need to be as brave as non muslim when comes to religion....we are so afraid of non muslim...not sure why.....in the eyes of non muslim we are seen as retard community because we can convert others to our fatih but not the otherway...where is the fairness....frankly speaking im ashamed to be in this situation.
