Mukhriz throws ex-aide RM1b dare, ropes in 'Wolf of Wall Street'

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) deputy president Mukhriz Mahathir has thrown a RM1 billion dare to his former aide Haris Che Mat.
The son of former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad said when he was appointed as a deputy minister in 2009 and Kedah menteri besar in 2013, he had declared his assets and liabilities to the prime minister.
“The prime minister must still have this list.
“I challenge Haris to prove that I have RM1 billion outside of that list,” he added in a media statement posted on Facebook.
The Ayer Hitam assemblyperson said if Haris could prove this, he would donate RM500 million for the development of his constituency, and another RM500 million for Pokok Sena, where Haris is the Umno division number two.
“If Haris fails to prove it, then Haris has to contribute the same amount for the development in Jerlun and Pokok Sena,” he added.
Last week, Haris had challenged Mukhriz to a debate, saying the latter must explain to the people how he and his brothers accumulated their wealth.

Mukhriz accepted the challenge.
In his statement today, Mukhriz issued a counter challenge to Haris to explain to the people how Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's stepson Riza Aziz procured the funds to produce the Oscar-nominated movie "Wolf of Wall Street", which cost US$100 million.
“I hope Haris recovers soon from his mystery illness which has suddenly afflicted him. When are you going to answer the question I asked before?” he added.
Yesterday, Berita Harian quoted Haris as stating that he might have to postpone his debate with Mukhriz slated for April 1 due to his back problem.
Haris said that at present, his focus is on seeking treatment.- Mkini
