Rahman: Penang CM may have contracted 'mudah lupa' syndrome

There appears to be no end in sight in the squabble between Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Abdul Rahman Dahlan and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, with the former launching fresh salvos.
Abdul Rahman Dahlan took to Twitter this evening to question Lim's memory after the Penang chief minister earlier today rubbished his explanation on their aborted debate last year.
"Lim Guan Eng has incredibly short memory. Debate was over Taman Manggis AND bungalow.
"Lim may have contracted 'Mudah Lupa' (forgetting easily) syndrome from our previous Umno leader who is now his best buddy," said Abdul Rahman, in apparent reference to former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Mahathir, who is now Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia chairperson, had at the 2001 Umno annual general assembly penned a poem titled "Melayu Mudah Lupa".
Earlier today, Lim pointed out that he was not charged over the Taman Manggis land controversy.
Therefore, he said Abdul Rahman's assertion that the debate would would incriminate Lim was not valid.
However, Abdul Rahman insisted that the debate would have included the topic of Lim's below market price bungalow purchase, with which he was charged.
"Lim may also forget that both inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission director Azam Baki advised (the) debate might disturb authorities' investigations," he said.
Abdul Rahman also questioned Lim's bid to delay his trial by raising issues of constitutionality despite previously stating that he looked forward to prove his innocence at the trial.

The tiff between the two reignited after Lim lauded Tourism and Culture Minister Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz for wanting to press ahead with his debate with Mahathir.
This was after the Perak police disallowed the debate from taking place in Kuala Kangsar.
Lim then took a jibe at Abdul Rahman, stating that unlike Nazri, he chickened out.
The Nazri-Mahathir debate was rescheduled to April 7 at Shah Alam.- Mkini
