Anyone can name likely candidates for the 14th general election but the final decision lies with BN chief Najib Abdul Razak, said Selangor Umno chief Noh Omar.
"I cannot comment on seat distribution (between BN component parties), much less the candidates, but anyone can say what they want (about likely candidates)," he told reporters in Putrajaya yesterday.
He was responding to Umno Sungai Besar chief Jamal Md Yunos, who earlier announced that Sungai Besar MCA Youth chief Ng Boon Keong dan Sungai Besar Umno committee member Samad Wahab are shortlisted to contest on BN's ticket in the traditional MCA seat.
Jamal made the announcement when officiating the Sabak Bernam election operations room on May 20.
In response, MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon said the Sekinchan seat belongs to MCA. - Mkini
