Yesterday, our beloved Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak announced an allocation of RM5 million for Yayasan Prihatin of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
As a commission that is dedicated to combating corruption in the country, Najib is very clear of how the MACC officers work, day and night, in their fight against corruption. Hence he believes that it is vital to ensure the welfare of the MACC officers is well taken care of.
According to the prime minister, corruption is a big threat to our civilisation, society and the future of our country. Hence fighting corruption and power abuse are in line with the aspiration of every Malaysian to make Malaysia a better country. I applaud Najib for his great effort in recognising the hard work of the officers.

While many corrupt politicians around the world claim to fight corruption when their anti-corruption campaign is, in fact, a sideshow to distract the people from the unimaginative policies of their corrupt administrations, we are lucky indeed to have a prime minister who is genuine in intent - although clueless in execution.
Why do I say clueless, you ask?
Well, it is simply because I believe MACC deserves a better recognition than the 'cekodok' RM5 million awarded by Najib.
No small achievement in just one year
You see, having seized RM334.53 million worth of assets, making 910 arrests while opening some 952 investigation papers in just one year (August 2016 to August 2017) is clearly not a small achievement for MACC. Imagine all the time, energy and effort the officers had put into accomplishing these tasks successfully.
Hence, the officers of MACC deserve all the praises as well as a worthy token of appreciation. As such, the RM5 million amount awarded by Najib to MACC, in my honest opinion, is not a worthy amount. Clearly, a commission as important as the MACC deserves stronger support, not only from the government but also from all Malaysians.
Sigh! If only Najib had not returned the unused US$620 million from the US$681 million donation he had received through his personal bank account in 2013 from the Saudi royal family, I bet he could have 'donated' a bigger amount than RM5 million to MACC.
Heck, Najib could have even directly transferred a handsome amount from the US$620 million he had returned to the Saudi royal family into the accounts of the key MACC officers as a 'personal donation' in recognising MACC's effort in fighting corruption. I bet the Saudi prince who initiated the personal donation in the first place would be very proud of Najib.

Come on, lah. If Permata, a programme for merely 50,000 gifted children deserved a whooping sum of RM85 million under the 2017 budget, please don't tell me MACC deserves only a tiny fraction (or 5.88 percent to be exact) when the responsibilities of MACC cover the entire 30 million Malaysian population.
As a citizen of Malaysia who is supportive of Najib's fight against corruption and power abuse, I hereby wish for my fellow Malaysian brothers and sisters to support me as I place a request to our beloved prime minister to seek some additional donations from the Saudi royal family in order to show MACC some sweet love and care.
Let us not shame MACC and the important work it does in combating corruption and power abuse in our beloved country by merely awarding it with a cheapskate RM5 million 'cekodok' (fritter snack) token of appreciation.
