AirAsia boss rips into ‘MP’ after Bung complains of RM2,000 ticket

AirAsia group chairperson Tony Fernandes expressed his displeasure at an "MP" on social media last night.
This came a day after Deputy Transport Minister Ab Aziz Kaprawi said the government would take action against the budget airline if Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin's complaints that a one-way ticket from Sandakan to Kuala Lumpur had cost him RM2,000.
Fernandes fired his salvo on both Facebook and Twitter by thanking ministers Liow Tiong Lai, Idris Jusoh and Mah Siew Keong for flying with AirAsia from Kuching to Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
The trio had been in the Sarawak capital for a government meeting with Indonesian president Joko Widodo.

"Thanks for travelling with us. (I'm) sure we have (given) you good fares and you didn’t pay RM2,000.
"We have (done) so much for East Malaysia yet some MP never stops complaining," Fernandes wrote on Facebook.
Bung had complained about the allegedly expensive tickets from Sandakan to Kuala Lumpur in the Dewan Rakyat on Monday.
In response, Ab Aziz said action would be taken to prevent AirAsia from profiteering and taking advantage of peak-hour flights.
Fernandes retorted by saying that before AirAsia was launched, there were no direct flights from Sandakan to Kuala Lumpur.
"Wonder if those same MPs will complain about Malaysian airports increasing charges by 100 percent!" he added.
This is believed to be a jab at Malaysian Airport Holdings Berhad (MAHB), which Fernandes had been feuding with for years, including over proposals to raise passenger service charges at airports.
