KUALA LUMPUR: A fire destroyed several buildings in the Kampung Baru area in the heart of the city this morning.

It is understood that the buildings had been occupied by a number of residential and business premises.
A plume of smoke was seen rising from the Jalan Raja Muda Musa area at 10.45am as firefighters struggled to combat the blaze, with the assistance of residents.
