WHAT ABOUT PUAD ZARKASHI, WILL HE BE SACKED TOO? ‘WE WON’T TOLERATE TROUBLE-MAKERS’ – KU NAN ON KAYVEAS SACKING

KUALA LUMPUR — Barisan Nasional (BN) will not tolerate any form of sabotage by those who were not chosen as GE14 candidates, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor said today.
The BN secretary-general said the ruling coalition has to draw the line to safeguard peace and unity within component parties before May 9.
He acknowledged that he had sent a letter to MyPPP to “advise” them on their president’s actions of undermining another component party’s candidate, and urging them to take action.
“We are not going to tolerate anyone in BN condemning one another and allow inter-party problems to grow. We have to put a stop to this,” he told Malay Mail when contacted.
MyPPP secretary-general Datuk Mohan Kandasamy said that the party central working committee unanimously decided to strip Kayveas of all positions in the party, two days after he quit as the party chief.
He also said that MyPPP initiated action against Kayveas before it even received an official notice regarding his resignation from the party.
“The letter also seemed to imply that we may be asked to leave BN if we did not take action,” party information chief Simon Suresh said.
Tengku Adnan said the decision on Kayveas sent a clear message that BN will not allow anyone to disrupt the unity of its component parties.
“The same goes for other members of BN regardless of which party they belong to. We will not hesitate to take action against those who are disruptive.
“Think with your head and not your heart. If you are not chosen, there must be a good reason why, and they know exactly why,” he said, adding that numerous reminders were issued in the past advising party members to stay united and support those who are contesting.
Tengku Adnan said as all component parties in BN have their own party constitution, the procedure is for BN to send a letter of advice to the respective party to take necessary action.
“The same way in Umno… the moment the 16 of them took the party to court to challenge the party, as per the constitution, we terminated their membership,” he said.
Kayveas threatened to bring MyPPP out of BN after MIC was given the Cameron Highlands seat, which he had been eyeing.
Yesterday, MIC was also given the Buntong state seat in Perak, despite MyPPP eyeing that seat as well.
MIC Youth chief C. Sivaraajh will contest Cameron Highlands.
