Following a report by Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng, the MACC has begun investigatingKuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) over the sale of 64 plots of state land during the tenure of former Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
In a meeting with Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory MPs this morning, Lim said KL mayor Mohd Amin Nordin Abdul Aziz had updated them about the latest developments of the investigation.
“According to the mayor, the MACC has been coming (to DBKL) every day to conduct investigations.
“They came yesterday and today to take documents regarding the 64 plots of land sold when Tengku Adnan was the minister,” he told a press conference at the DBKL headquarters after the meeting.
According to Lim (above), Mohd Amin promised that he and his officers would “fully cooperate” with the MACC in its investigations.

Lim previously alleged that the 64 plots, valued at some RM4.28 billion, were sold to private developers without open tender between 2013 to 2018.
He also claimed that some of the lots had been transferred to a foundation called Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan before they were sold. Tengku Adnan was the former chairperson of the foundation.
Tengku Adnan, who is Putrajaya MP and Umno secretary-general, previously denied any misconduct in the land deals in question.
“The issue of these lands is a long-standing issue and no corruption is involved...we were doing it according to the proposal and we didn’t sell the lands instantly,” he had told Malaysiakini.
During today's meeting with the mayor, Lim said he had also raised how ten of the 64 land plots in question had yet to officially change hands from DBKL to the buyers. This was based on checks with the Lands and Mines Office.
“The mayor said that if the Lands and Mines Office had yet to issue consent letters for these plots, DBKL will terminate the sales and purchase agreements with (the private developers).
“DBKL will then be able to get the land back,” he said.
Present at both the meeting and press conference today was Seputeh MP Teresa Kok (above) who urged the chief secretary to the government Mohd Ali Hamsa, who oversees the Lands and Mines Office, to refrain from allowing any of the 64 land deals to go through.
“I ask the chief secretary to not accept any premiums to approve any of these land deals. DBKL can’t do anything in this respect because land issues are under the Lands and Mines Office,” she said. -Mkini
