Upsi lifts 5-year suspension against Adam Adli

Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (Upsi) has lifted a five-year suspension against student activist Adam Adli Abdul Halim.
This was after the Court of Appeal acquitted him of a sedition charge, which was brought against him for a speech made a few days after BN won in the 13th general election in 2013.
Upsi, in a letter to Adam Adli, said the university had been informed by the Attorney-General's Chambers that the courts had cleared him of wrongdoing.
"Following this, the suspension against you is lifted and you are allowed to resume your studies at the university beginning Sept 10, 2018," read the letter.
Adam Adli shared the letter on Facebook stating: "I have yet to make a decision (to resume studying). Pray for the best".
Adam was suspended by the university on Sept 6, 2013, following the sedition charge.
Prior to his suspension, Adam had led several students' protest on various issues including the National Higher Education Loan Fund (PTPTN). -Mkini
