Hisham's three escorts recalled by Defence Ministry


KUALA LUMPUR: The three security personnel who were said to be still serving as escorts for former defence minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein have reported back for duty at the ministry.
Defence Minister Mohamad Sabu said action was currently being taken on the matter.
"They have reported back for duty," he told reporters after attending the Defence Ministry assembly at Wisma Pewira on Tuesday.
It is learnt that an investigation by the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) is underway on claims that three of its personnel continued serving as escorts for Hishammuddin despite no longer .
.It was believed that the three had allegedly been drawing salaries from both the ATM and Hishammuddin.
Hishammuddin, who tweeted a reply over the issue, said the three personnel had close ties with him and his family, having served him for a long time.
According to him, they were only serving him "temporarily".
The Sembrong MP also said he had offered them employment, but on the condition that they resign from the ATM with immediate effect if they took up the offer.- Star
