KU LI PREDICTS ANWAR WILL SWEEP PD: ‘LEADERS LIKE HIM ARE VERY DIFFICULT TO DEFEAT – HE HAS THE LEADERSHIP FIGURE’

KUALA LUMPUR – Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah predicts that Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim may win in the Port Dickson by-election.
He said chances of the PKR de facto leader to win the by-election is high due to his vast experience and leadership skills in politics.
“I think he will win because of his experience and he has been a politician for a very long time. Leaders like him are very difficult to defeat. He has the leadership figure.
But if he has no luck to win, then that is his loss,” said Tengku Razaleigh, or known as Ku Li, at the Lembaga Peradaban Melayu (ADAB) 7th annual general meeting here today.
He was responding to a question on whether Anwar can win in the Port Dickson by-election which will see an eight-corner-fight.
Asked on his thoughts on the eight-corner-fight, the Gua Musang member of parliament, in a short comment said, the more the merrier.
The by-election is being held following the resignation of PKR’s Datuk Danyal Balagopal Abdullah, 68.
Voting day for the by-election will be held on Oct 13.
Commenting on an originating summons filed against Anwar to seek review and declaration that Anwar is not qualified to contest in any parliamentary seat, Ku Li admits that it will be unfortunate if he (Anwar) loses his qualification to contest.
“If he is not qualified to contest, then that is too bad for him,” he added.
