‘A MILLION THANKS’ NAJIB REVIVES ‘LOVE AFFAIR’ WITH HADI: CLOSER BN-PAS PACT NOW OFF TO REALITY ‘FOR THE SAKE OF MALAYSIA’S FUTURE,’ SAYS EX-PM – WITH NOT A WORD OF PROTEST FROM OBEDIENT MCA & MIC

PAS’ support for Barisan Nasional in the Cameron Highlands by-election paves the way for closer cooperation between the two “for the sake of Malaysia’s future”, said former prime minister Najib Razak.
“I appreciate the support of (PAS president) Abdul Hadi Awang, (deputy president) Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, and PAS leaders and members, who helped in the people’s victory in Cameron Highlands,” said the former BN chairman on Facebook today.
“I am confident that our cooperation will be even closer, all for the sake of Malaysia’s future.”
Najib’s post was accompanied by photos of him warmly greeting Hadi and Tuan Ibrahim.
Political observers, as well as Amanah president Mohamad Sabu, said the estimated 3,500 PAS supporters in Cameron Highlands helped BN keep the parliamentary seat, following the party’s decision not to field a candidate, and instead, campaign for the former ruling coalition.
Umno and PAS have announced that the Islamist party will also sit out the upcoming Semenyih by-election and rally support for the BN candidate.
Earlier, Najib thanked “our friends from MIC and MCA” for BN’s Cameron Highlands victory.
“We want to convey a million thanks to the leadership and machinery of MCA and MIC, for their commitment and hard work.”
BN now comprises just Umno, MCA and MIC, after other parties quit the pact following its 14th general election defeat.
