Sources: Entrepreneur minister hit by no-confidence challenge in Bersatu

Malacca Bersatu chief Mohd Redzuan Yusof has reportedly been hit by a vote of no confidence.
Sources told Malaysiakini that the challenge was mounted against Redzuan, who is also the entrepreneur development minister, on Friday.
"It was a unanimous vote by the division leaders, I was told that the local leaders were not happy with Redzuan. This matter has been brought up to (Bersatu president) Muhyiddin Yassin and (chairperson) Dr Mahathir Mohamad," a supreme council source said.
Malaysiakini is attempting to contact Redzuan, as well as Bersatu secretary-general Marzuki Yahya for comment.
It is understood that the Malacca Bersatu rebels are pushing for state government executive councillor Mohd Rafiq Naizamohideen to be the party's new state chief.
Rafiq declined to comment when contacted.
It is believed that the revolt was prompted by anger towards Redzuan's decision to sack former Kuala Lumpur mayor Ruslin Hasan as the Ayer Limau state constituency coordinator two weeks ago, as well as a move to dismiss Nazri Ramli as Masjid Tanah Bersatu deputy chief.
Another Bersatu supreme council source said Redzuan was a divisive figure in the party.
"He is an ambitious one too... He even tried to canvass in the supreme council to put himself as the successor to Muhyiddin for the president's post and even eyeing for Mahathir's position," the source added. - Mkini
