BN lawmaker, wife arrested for alleged graft - sources

A BN lawmaker was detained by the MACC for alleged graft this morning, according to sources.
A source close to the case told Malaysiakini that the MP was detained in Sabah together with his wife, an actress.
"They were nabbed to facilitate a probe into alleged graft amounting to several millions of ringgit," said the source.
Malaysiakini was also informed that the case was linked to the MP's former role as the chairperson of a government agency.
The BN lawmaker and his wife were released later in the day after their statements were recorded by the commission.
According to another source, the couple is expected to be charged under the MACC Act 2009 at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court this Friday.
"The MP may face three graft charges, while his wife will face charges for abetment." -Mkini
