Mat Sabu chastises PAS for constant fatwa changes

Amanah president Mohamad Sabu today chastised PAS for its apparent tendency to continually alter the fatwa it issues.
Mohamad said this in response to PAS Ulama chief Nik Muhammad Zawawi Salleh declaring on Sunday that it is the Islamist party's obligation to bring down the Pakatan Harapan government.
"They change their fatwa every week," he told journalists during an Amanah Aidilfitri open house in Kuala Lumpur.
"This week, it is an obligation to bring down Harapan, next week it would be something else – that is the nature of a party of edicts."
Mohamad noted that PAS had previously taken a different position on Umno, but has now altered it to cooperate with the former ruling party.
He also added that Amanah is open to receiving and reflecting on criticism, but not to entertaining "ridiculous" edicts.
"Feel free to criticise, even if it's me, Amanah or Harapan. But I will fight these ridiculous fatwa.
"Insya Allah, Harapan will remain strong," he said. - Mkini
