Mat Hasan proposes abolition of opposition leader posts in Umno, PAS states

Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan has proposed the abolition of the opposition leader position in states controlled by Umno or PAS.
He claimed the position was no longer necessary following the alliance between Umno and PAS.
"One of my proposals is to no longer have an opposition leader. We do not want to talk about positions.
"If we now have an accord, there is no more opposition," he told a Penyatuan Ummah (Muslim unity) ceramah in Pasir Mas, Kelantan last night.

Mohamad (photo, above) added that be it BN representatives in PAS-led Kelantan or PAS representatives in BN-led Pahang, they will all be "Perpaduan Ummah" representatives.
Pakatan Harapan did not win any seats in Terengganu and Kelantan state assemblies, which would mean the PAS-Umno alliance would leave no opposition in the states.
However, Kelantan's Air Lanas assemblyperson Mustapa Mohamed defected from Umno to Bersatu last year.
Mohamad also did not elaborate on how his proposal will affect BN-led Perlis and Pahang, which still has Harapan as the opposition in the state assemblies there.
Also present at the ceramah last night were PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man and Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob. - Mkini
