Behrang rep lost Tg Malim Amanah division chief post in re-election

Behrang assemblyperson Aminuddin Zulkipli has failed to defend his Amanah Tanjung Malim division chief post in a re-election held yesterday.
Aminuddin (above) failed to place in the Top 15 among 20 candidates vying for positions in the division committee.
According to sources, the re-election results saw the Perak state-assemblyperson deputy speaker receiving only 20 votes from 58 delegates.
"This means he (Aminuddin) is not qualified to be reappointed as division chief or to other positions in the division," said the source.

In a related development, the re-election also saw central Amanah Youth development director Khairol Najib Hashim being appointed as Tanjung Malim division chief.
Khairol, 27, is the youngest Amanah leader so far to be appointed to lead a division.
Khairol, who is also private secretary to the deputy housing and local council minister Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah Raja Ahmad, previously held the position of Tanjung Malim Amanah youth chief.
Meanwhile, the Amanah Tanjung Malim deputy division chief is now held by Khalili Kasim, while Fauziah Hanim and Sobri Abd Rahman fills up the two vice-chief positions.
For the record, Aminuddin is the second Perak Amanah leader to lose their division chief's post in the ongoing party elections, after state deputy chief Muhammad Nizar Jamaluddin's failure to defend his position in Gopeng.
Muhammad Nizar subsequently chose to sit out of the re-election.
The party held a fresh round of elections for 655 branches and 81 divisions after earlier ones were deemed to be void due to issues with the Registrar of Societies. - Mkini
