Siti Hasmah distributes choc treats to waiting media outside PMO

PUTRAJAYA: Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali is known as a motherly and caring figure – and that side of her was seen again when she shared chocolates with the media waiting at the Putra Perdana building that houses the Prime Minister's Office.
As she passed by a group of media personnel around 10am, she wound down her car window and offered them chocolates.
Earlier, interim Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad arrived at the office around 8.35am on Thursday (Feb 27).
Not long after, Bersatu armada chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman arrived.
When asked, he said he was there to speak with Dr Mahathir on the country's issues.
Dr Mahathir, who had offered to set up a non-partisan government is expected to have an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Istana Negara at 11am.
In a press conference on Tuesday (Feb 25), Barisan and PAS had called for the dissolution of Parliament and a snap election to be called due to the current political uncertainty in the country.
Umno secretary-general Tan Sri Annuar Musa said the power to decide should be returned to the people.
"The people's mandate should not be neglected. We ask that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to allow for Parliament to be dissolved," he had said. - Star
