Malaysiakini

CORONAVIRUS | Putrajaya will bear the cost of the flight to send students between East and West Malaysia.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced in a media conference in Putrajaya today.
"We will bring back our students from the peninsular who are studying in Sabah and Sarawak.
"I believe they fly on the same planes where students from Sabah and Sarawak studying in the peninsular use to go back to their states.
"The government fully bears the cost," he said.
For other movements of university students, Ismail said 653 students from the northern zone will go back to their homes in the same zone starting today and tomorrow.
They involved students from Universiti Teknologi Mara, Universiti Utara Malaysia, Universiti Sains Malaysia, and polytechnics.
For students who move within the Sarawak zone, 280 of them are also expected to start their journey today.
While 42 students from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) began their journey within the same zone starting 9am this morning.
Putrajaya has decided to allow students to go home in the fourth phase of the movement control order (MCO).
When the MCO was imposed mid-March, thousands of students were ordered to remain at their respective residences and were provided food by their respective campuses.
Subsequently, on April 25, Ismail announced that students who were stranded in their campuses were allowed to go home. - Mkini
