Aidiladha: Prison visits on Aug 1 and 2

Malaysiakini

Family members are allowed to visit inmates on Aug 1 and 2, in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha.
The Prisons Department in a statement said, however, no visitation is allowed on the first day of Aidiladha on July 31.
“This is applicable to all prisons, correctional centres, detention centres and the Henry Gurney School.
“Visitors must adhere to the regulations set by the Prisons Department that the priority is given to family members of Muslim inmates,” the statement said.
Visitors are required to set an appointment prior to their visit and bring the visiting card and identity card to facilitate the process.
“Besides that, visitors are prohibited from bringing or giving any food and beverage to the inmates because it can be purchased from the canteen.
“Visitors are also advised not to give any money to inmates except for certain matters such as exam fee payments,” the statement said.
Visitors are also required to comply with Covid-19 prevention measures as stipulated by the Prisons Department and Health Ministry.
