PETALING JAYA: A national PPBM Youth exco has defended a leaked letter to Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor requesting to be considered for a position in a government-linked company.
Muzzammil Ismail, who is a candidate for the PPBM Youth chief post, confirmed that the letter leaked on social media was authentic, but said it does not go against the law and was just a “normal letter”.
He said he had included his resume for the menteri besar’s consideration, based on his professional qualifications and political experience.
“This act (of leaking the letter) is just ill-intentioned and intends to give rise to slander and prejudice against me, especially when party elections are looming.
“That letter is just a normal letter similar to what people would send to their employers,” he told FMT.
He added that his focus was to help the government and the people through his political and professional service.
In the letter, which made its rounds on Facebook, Muzammil offered himself to be the director of any Kedah government development agency or company, saying he had the academic qualifications and work experience.
He named Bina Darul Aman, Kedah Regional Development Authority, Menteri Besar Kedah Incorporated and Kedah State Development Corporation as some examples.
He said he was a graduate in urban planning and real estate and was finishing his final PhD study on flood barriers. - FMT
