Cops to quiz NGO leader for claiming judge who sentenced Najib is related to Dr M

NGO Pertubuhan Minda dan Sosial Prihatin Malaysia president Ramesh Rao will have his statement recorded by the police tomorrow over his allegation that High Court judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali is related to Langkawi MP Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Ramesh (photo, above), via his tweet, had claimed that Nazlan, who ruled that former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak was guilty of all seven charges in his RM42 million SRC International trial, is Mahathir’s grandson or grandnephew.
Bukit Aman CID deputy director (Investigations/Legal) Mior Faridalathrash Wahid confirmed the appointment date.
"The suspect will come to Bukit Aman on Aug 4," he said.
The Federal Classified Crime Investigation Department is investigating the case under the Sedition Act 1948 and the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
The investigation follows a police report made by Bersatu member Mohd Afzanizam Abdul Rahman against Ramesh in Taiping on July 29.
Mahathir’s children Marina and Mukhriz have both refuted the allegation.
Nazlan had sentenced Najib to a 12-year jail term and an RM210 million fine after convicting him on seven criminal charges related to SRC International Sdn Bhd.
The judge allowed a stay of execution but raised the bail amount by RM1 million. - Mkini
